President Barack Obama made history today by becoming the first president to come out in support of the legalization of same sex marriage.
“I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.”
“There have been times where Michelle and I have been sitting around the dinner table and we’re talking about their friends and their parents, and Malia and Sasha, it wouldn’t dawn on them that somehow their friends’ parents would be treated differently.”
“It doesn’t make sense to them, and frankly, that’s the kind of thing that prompts a change in perspective.” Continue reading Our First Black President Has Accomplished Another First…

The 2012 TIME 100: The 100 Most influential people in the world…
Fashion designer Stella Mccartney writes:
I can’t remember when Rihanna and I first met, but I think it was near a dance floor and one of her tracks was playing. The thing I remember was her being a normal person, not what you’d expect of a young woman about to take over the world. She’s one of the coolest, hottest, most talented, most liked, most listened to, most followed, most impressive artists at work today, but she does it in her own stride. She works hard, very hard. She gives to her fans, friends and foundation not just herself but her energy and spirit.
Rihanna, 24, goes out of her way to support the people she believes in. She is one of the few people I know in that world of fame and celebrity who aren’t all about themselves. She’ll give a real part of herself to an ordinary person she may meet, and that’s rare.
This is the beginning for Rihanna — she has so much more to do and to give. She is just getting going, so watch out. She’s the Barbados ambassador for youth and culture, and she’s coming to a town near you.
Some I guess are having an issue with Rihanna being on this list, and have started a trending topic on Twitter #PeopleMoreInfluentialThanRihanna
I guess being crazy is influential, according to TIME magazine. Continue reading Rihanna, Viola Davis, Adele, Raphael Saadiq, & President Obama All Made The List…
I’m so in love with our President & First Lady. They continue to show their genuine spirit in all they do, and their genuine love for each other.
Our president and first lady, who’ve been married for over 19 years, had dinner with the winners of the 2012 President’s Dinner Contest earlier this month. They talked about their first date:
“I took her to the Art Museum at the Art Institute, I was trying to impress her, to show her I was a real culturally sensitive guy. And it worked!”
“Just trying to give a tip for the young men out there,” the president says, smiling at the camera.
The president also tells a funny story of a time he had to get a 4 year-old Malia ready for ballet, and how her hair turned out to be a “disaster”, and 1 of the couples shared a personal story about how their son benefited from President Obama’s healthcare bill.
