‘Love & Hip-Hop’s Olivia Premieres Her New Video “Walk Away” And This Is What I Think…

Jan 31, 2012 | By:

Olivia debuted her new video ‘WALK AWAY’ yesterday, and she’s receiving positive BUZZ  on the song, and for her choice to spotlight the serious issue of  domestic violence.

I can’t help but wonder if her message is from a genuine place of wanting to add her voice to this serious issue, or a way to gain some attention to her and her music?

From watching ‘Love & Hip-Hop’, we all saw the consistent efforts Olivia continually makes to solidify her place in this music game.

I think Olivia has a really nice voice, looks good, and I can always appreciate when artists use their voice to highlight real life issues, but in a world of Beyonce, Rihanna, Mary J. Blige, and even Ciara, Olivia doesn’t offer us anything to make herself stand out. *sigh*. I feel she sings the track very pretty, but do we feel what she’s singing?  When Beyonce does anything, she sets such a high standard, she’s the 1 the rest strive to be. Rihanna is the certified bad girl of Pop music, and with her antics onstage and off, she got that title on lock. When Mary sings on any track, I feel every emotion through each of her songs. And then of course we have Ciara and her dancing, which make her stand out, even if the vocal talent is not as strong.  Then there’s Olivia, who sings real pretty, but, then what??

Either, or, I can appreciate this song and the video’s necessary message!!!!
