With all the BUZZ of Solange signing to NEXT Models, and walking runways in Milan for Alberta Ferretti, everyone was talking about Solange on her ‘modeling’ grind, well….
Solange took to her Blog to make something very clear, SHE’s NOT A MODEL!!!
Just to be clear….
There have been some miscommunications in regards to me being a “Model”.
Since the news surrounding me signing with Next Models, hit around the same time I walked in the Albertta Ferretti show…..people mistakingly perceived this as my “Runway Debut”.
In all actually, the fashion show featured all types of movers and shakers in the fashion industry. They were all very beautiful and talented magazine editors, bloggers, designers, ect., and we all embarked on this excited journey together. I might also add, that this was for a wonderful charitable cause.
Of course, I messed up and went the wrong way. I was focusing too much on sticking my stomach in, in that satin gown that picked up on all the insane amounts of Chicken and Waffles iv’e been killing lately. (This is an entirely different post, as I have managed to find 3 restaurants in New York that don’t make me miss Roscoes one bit….that felt so wrong to say, but so true.)
Anyway, the features in all of the magazines I’ve been in are indeed fashion stories, but I am showcased like any other artist that has an album to promote. Sometimes I think stories with less words are better. Hence, Mydamnblog’s lack of literary content.
In other news, I am indeed super excited to be signed to Next in their Talent department.
But don’t get used to me walking down more runways, incorrectly… anytime soon.
