As reported on Cannon’s Countdown:
During the beginning of 2012, Nick was rushed to the hospital due to kidney issues. He came back strong, but as with any human body it needs rest, relaxation and sometimes a vacation. And without that, Nick’s body reacted with more health issues. On Wednesday’s “Rollin”, he announced that he was hospitalized over the weekend for two blood clots found in his lungs. All these health issues have led Nick to come to the decision to give up the morning show.
“Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule.
It has been an absolute pleasure working with CBS Radio and the 92.3 NOW morning show team and I would like to thank them for their unwavering support. I will continue to host my syndicated “Cannon’s Countdown” weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep.”
Nick tweeted:
A bitter sweet morning. I have to stop my radio show. Doctors orders. The Doctors found blood clots in my lungs and said if I don’t slow down and stop working so hard then it’s a wrap! “I guess I can’t drive at 200 mph for the whole road trip, Time to put the car in cruise control” “Even Super Man had to sleep!”
WOW!! At only 31 years old, Nick is facing some serious health issues.
We have to be very diligent in taking care of ourselves, at every age. Too many young 1′s are leaving us too soon. We need Nick around for a long time for Mariah and ‘dem babies.’
