Country Singer Miranda Lambert Wants To Put Chris Brown In His Place w/”Gunpowder & Lead”…

Feb 14, 2012 | By:

Miranda Lambert, among others, just won’t allow Chris Brown to move on from his MISTAKE…3 years ago. Never mind that Rihanna has been able to forgive and move forward, some just won’t let it go.

Miranda tweets:

How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was? Strange. And Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl…

Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.

Now…Bruno Mars…yes please! That rocked and also Adele…duh! And Jennifer Hudson! That’s real music. kinda made up for all the suck.

As for my tweets “it’s just one clowns opinion”. I love music and that’s what it’s all about

What’s ironic, is that Miranda’s reference of “Gunpowder & Lead” is a reference to Lambert’s 2007 hit “Gunpowder and Lead.” The lyrics describe a woman preparing to kill her abusive husband when he gets out of jail. “His fist is big but my gun’s bigger. He’ll find out when I pull the trigger”

So Miranda’s disgust over a violent act Chris Brown committed, is to counteract with more violence. Yeah, Miranda, that’s a great way to combat violence…SMDH!!

Others tweeted their disappointment:

“Modern Family” actor Eric Stonestreet posted:

“Are Chris Brown’s mom and dad CBS and Grammy Brown?”

“Looks like all is forgiven (with) Chris Brown,” Sherri Shepherd tweeted. “That’s all I’ll say.”

I’m so disappointed at the collective efforts some have taken to criticize Chris Brown, even when he’s doing something positive and something that allows him to make a living. I just don’t seem to see the same effort to denounce the Charlie Sheens and Mel Gibsons of the world. It’s sad, and honestly is getting real old.

I’m so proud of the consistent effort Chris has tried to make to do better, now that he knows better. And his talent is undeniable, and I for 1 am a fan of his work and would like to see him be the great artist I know he has the potential to be, that he already is.

Let Chris be great, and if you still can’t get passed a 3 year old incident that ultimately had nothing to do with the folks who seem to be holding on to it, change the channel, turn the radio station, and keep it moving.

If you missed Chris performances at Sunday night’s Grammys, watch below. And congrats on his Grammy for ‘Best R&B Album’.
